The Canberra Zoo2Zoo is a three-day, multi-stage road cycling event spanning 467 kilometres from the National Zoo & Aquarium in Canberra to Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo.

Rolling out from the ACT into open pastoral roads, the route charts a course through the heart of regional New South Wales, taking in Yass, Young, Cowra, Canowindra, and Molong. Rather than a high-stress race environment, the event operates as a structured, group-peloton tour that balances solid multi-day mileage with a strong emphasis on camaraderie and shared purpose.

Founded in 2006 when twelve friends rode from Sydney to Dubbo to raise funds for local medical equipment, the Zoo2Zoo movement has grown into a major fundraising initiative. Over its history, the organisation has raised millions of dollars for mental health charities, including the Black Dog Institute. The ride retains its tight-knit community feel, complete with long-standing traditions such as the evening 'Kangaroo Court' at the Molong cricket ground, where lighthearted fines contribute additional funds to the cause.

Designed for road cyclists comfortable riding in pace-lines and accustomed to sustained back-to-back days in the saddle, the ride demands consistent endurance rather than explosive punchy efforts. Participants roll in designated groups matched by speed, each supported by a dedicated crew and support vehicle.

Over the three days, riders tackle quiet backroads, rolling agricultural hills, and regional climbs, all while taking in local highlights such as the famous 'Animals on Bikes' outdoor sculpture trail along the road into Dubbo.
