The Goldfields Cyclassic continues its legacy as Western Australia's most unique cycling event, offering both high-stakes racing and accessible community riding across the stunning Goldfields landscape. Whether you're chasing podium glory in the graded handicap races or soaking in the outback atmosphere in the Community Challenge, this historic event delivers an unforgettable cycling experience.

Event Type: Multiday handicap race and community ride

Distance Options:

  • Day 1: Kalgoorlie to Menzies (132km)
  • Day 2: Menzies to Leonora (104km)

Day 1: The Shire of Menzies Classic - Chas Egan Memorial Race
Journey through eucalypt woodlands along the Goldfields Highway, with four sprint sections offering prize opportunities. The undulating 132km route follows historic goldfields trails before finishing in front of the historic Menzies Town Hall.

Day 2: Leonora Golden Wheels & Women's Classic
Continue north across the dramatic Jeedamya plains, racing 104km to Leonora. Men compete in graded scratch races while women tackle the inaugural Minara Resources Women's Classic handicap race. The day concludes with an elite criterium through Leonora's streets.

  • Current AusCycling Race All Disciplines Licence
  • Suitable for both racing and recreational cyclists
  • Team and individual entries welcome

  • Qantas and Virgin operate Perth-Kalgoorlie routes
  • Note: Saturday morning commercial flights do not arrive in time for race registration

From Perth to Kalgoorlie:

  • 595km via Great Eastern Highway
  • Approximately 6.5 hours driving time
  • Regular fuel stops at Southern Cross and Coolgardie
  • Early departure recommended for registration timing

From Perth to Menzies (Day 2 Start):

  • 730km via Great Eastern Highway
  • Approximately 8 hours driving time
  • Plan overnight stay in Kalgoorlie or Menzies

By Train

  • The Prospector service runs Perth to Kalgoorlie
  • Depart Friday for Saturday morning arrival
  • Advance booking essential during long weekend
  • Note: Bikes must be transported separately via Allied
