RIDE FOR COUNTRY KIDS

The Ride for Country Kids supports the more than 100 years that the Royal Far West has supported country children. This signature three-day cycling event traces a historic route through far west NSW, combining challenging cycling with profound purpose. Since its inception, riders have raised over $3.9 million to support essential developmental, behavioral, and mental health services for rural children.

The route starts in Parkes and travels through Molong, Manildra, Trundle, Eugowra, and Forbes.

Date: Thursday-Saturday, May 17-20, 2026

Location: Far West NSW (Parkes to Forbes)

Event Type: Multi-day charity road cycling event

Distance: 380km+ over three days

Setting off on Sunday 17th May, the Ride will cover over 380km through NSW’s far west regions.
Day One – Starting in Parkes, riding through Manildra and Molong, before returning to Parkes (approx. 150km)
Day Two – Starting in Parkes and riding to Trundle, before heading to Forbes (approx. 130km)
Day Three – Starting in Forbes, heading to Eugowra and finishing in Forbes (approx. 120km)

Entry Fee: $1,950 per rider Includes:

  • Official rider kit
  • Accommodation (May 14-17)

Fundraising Requirement: Minimum $4,000 per rider

Entry Requirements

  • Maintain 25km/h minimum average speed
  • Road/race bikes only (no e-bikes or mountain bikes)
  • Current AusCycling membership required (available from $9/month)
  • Good base fitness level with training commitment
  • Fundraising dedication
  • Multiple rest stops daily with morning tea and lunch breaks
  • Support vehicles at front and rear of each group

  • Parkes is 5 hours from Sydney via Great Western and Mid-Western Highways.
    Regional Express Airlines (Rex) offers direct flights from Sydney from $169.
    Regional train services is available, but takes more than six hours and only runs about twice a week.
