Launch your 2026 cycling season with Grand Slam #1 in Gumeracha, the opening round of South Australia's premier progressive cycling series. Set against the Adelaide Hills' rolling landscape, this ride offers the perfect introduction to supported distance cycling, with two achievable distances designed to build confidence and fitness throughout the year.

Part of Bike SA's five-ride Grand Slam Challenge Series, each event progressively extends your distance capability, transforming personal goals into achievements through structured progression and comprehensive support. Whether you're targeting the full 200km Grand Slam finale in October or building towards your first century ride, the journey starts here.

Start Time: 8:00 AM ACDT (registration from 7:00 AM)

Event Type: Progressive road cycling series

Distance Options:

  • Mini Slam: 40km (Loop 1 only)
  • Grand Slam: 80km (both loops)

Elevation Gain: 800m (Grand Slam)

Starting from Gumeracha's historic township, the route explores the Adelaide Hills' quintessential cycling terrain. Loop 1 delivers 40km of varied riding through productive farmland and gentle climbs, while Loop 2 extends the challenge with additional elevation and scenic valley views. The double-loop format lets you decide your distance on the day, with Mini Slam riders enjoying the option of a later 9:30 AM start for Loop 2 only.

Series Pass (all 5 rides):

  • Adult: $180 (member) / $240 (non-member)
  • Youth (under 18): $140

Individual Ride:

  • Adult: $45 (member) / $60 (non-member)
  • Youth (16-18): $35
  • Child (under 16): Free (registration required)

Registration includes: Timing, refreshment stops, light lunch, mechanical support, first aid, experienced marshals, and route marking.
