SUNFLOWER CHARITY RIDE

Location: QLD
Date: May 1 - 3, 2026

There's only one place in Australia where you can ride your bike through a million sunflowers, and that place is Kalbar, Queensland. The Sunflower Charity Ride, run by the Gravel Cartel, returns for 2026 as part of the iconic Kalbar Sunflower Festival, offering a genuinely unique experience that blends cycling with one of the Scenic Rim's most celebrated community events.

Born from drought and resilience, when Lucerne farmers Jenny and Russell Jenner planted sunflowers after years of failed crops, the festival has grown into a beloved annual pilgrimage for thousands of visitors. For the 2026 edition, cyclists get exclusive access to the farm before the crowds arrive, riding through the golden fields at dawn before the day opens up into festival mode.

Available across three separate days (Friday 1 May, Saturday 2 May, and Sunday 3 May), each day is identical in format and capped at just 50 riders, making this one of the most intimate and sought-after cycling experiences on the Queensland events calendar. This is not a multi-day event, you register for one day only.

An unforgettable ride through sunflower fields.
