TOUR DE CURE
The Tour de Cure Signature Tour 2027 departs from the Sydney skyline on a 9 day journey to the Gold Coast, traversing the diverse terrain of country New South Wales and the Northern Rivers before crossing into Queensland. This is the flagship event for Tour de Cure, a foundation that has raised more than $158 million for cancer research since its inception in 2007. Every kilometre ridden contributes to a mission that has already funded 1,228 cancer projects and achieved 231 world-class research breakthroughs.
This is not a race, but it is a serious physical and emotional undertaking. Participants ride in structured pelotons, visiting local primary schools and rural communities along the route to share vital cancer prevention messages. Since the first tour in 2007, which saw just 29 riders travel from Brisbane to Sydney, the event has grown into a national movement that combines elite-level support with a grassroots community focus.
Riders can choose to tackle the full 9-day point-to-point epic or join for shorter 2 or 3-day “Tour Experience” segments. Regardless of the distance, the tour is defined by its camaraderie and the shared "why" behind every pedal stroke. The daily schedule includes community dinners where $10,000 local grants are often presented to support regional cancer services, ensuring the impact of the ride is felt directly in the towns the pelotons pass through.
The tour offers a professional-grade experience, featuring full mechanical and medical support, lead and follow vehicles, and dedicated catering. It is designed for those who want to test their endurance while contributing to a future where cancer is no longer life-threatening.
