United Energy Around the Bay welcomes riders of all generations and abilities to tackle one of five spectacular routes around Port Phillip Bay. From family-friendly laps to the challenging 220km full bay circuit, this festival combines achievement with community spirit while supporting vital medical research through Maddie Riewoldt's Vision.

Founded as a celebration of Melbourne's cycling culture, this event has evolved into a must-do experience for everyone from recreational riders to weekend warriors.

Each route showcases Melbourne's spectacular bay views while catering to different skill and experience levels:

Lap the Track (17km): Enjoy completely closed roads around Albert Park Lake with family-friendly entertainment and activities along the route. Perfect for riders of all ages and abilities.

Bosch eBike Systems 50km: Experience the iconic Westgate Bridge crossing with panoramic city views before returning along St Kilda foreshore on closed roads. Suitable for both traditional bikes and e-bikes.

100km Around the Bay: Tackle Melbourne's classic cycling route over the Westgate Bridge to Williamstown and back, then along Beach Road to Mordialloc. The perfect distance for those attempting their first century ride.

135km Around the Bay (Geelong Start): Beginning at Cunningham Pier, this route traces the Bellarine Peninsula coastline before crossing by ferry to Sorrento and continuing along the Mornington Peninsula and Beach Road to Albert Park.

The Classic Around the Bay (220km): The ultimate challenge and bucket list achievement. Circle the entire bay through metropolitan Melbourne, the Bellarine Peninsula, across the ferry to Sorrento, and back via Beach Road with a special lane closure section on the Princes Freeway.
