The Victorian MTB Championship Series launches its landmark 10th season with an opening weekend double-header at Avoca. Two full days of XCO racing mean double the points, double the track time, and a proper festival The Victorian MTB Championship Series continues at one of the state's premier purpose-built venues, with Haunted Hills MTB Park hosting Rounds 3 & 4 across the final weekend of November. This back-to-back format delivers two full days of XCO racing on trails designed specifically for competition, combining technical challenge with the festival atmosphere that's defined this series for a decade.

Haunted Hills brings championship racing to Gippsland's cycling heartland, where purpose-built trails and established infrastructure create ideal conditions for competitive XCO. The weekend format rewards those who've banked points at Avoca while offering newcomers their first chance to join the series, with identical Saturday and Sunday race programs across all categories from Under 13s to Masters 7+.

With your best five results from eight rounds counting toward the championship, this Gippsland weekend offers crucial opportunities to build your points tally before the summer break and the State Championship finale at Buxton.

Distance: 4-6 km lap circuit (both days)

Series: Rounds 3 & 4 of 8 (best 5 results count)

Both Days Schedule:

  • Registration: 7:30-8:45 AM
  • Race Briefing: 8:40 AM
  • Start Group 1: 9:00 AM
  • Start Group 2: 10:45 AM
  • Group 1 Presentations: 11:05 AM
  • Group 2 Presentations: 1:00 PM

Racing takes place on Haunted Hills MTB Park's purpose-built trail network, adapted for XCO format with a 4-6km lap circuit. Riders complete multiple laps based on their category, with lap counts designed to achieve target race durations for each group.

The identical course layout across both days allows you to refine your lines on Saturday and push for faster splits on Sunday.

Pricing (per day):

  • Senior categories: $80
  • Junior categories (U19 and under): $65

Entries remain open until race day and can be completed online right up until registration closes.

Insurance Requirement:
All competitors must hold valid AusCycling insurance. If racing both days, purchase a 7-day event license ($74) rather than two 1-day licenses ($44 each). Present proof at registration.
