WOLLONGONG FESTIVAL OF CYCLING
The Ride Wollongong Festival of Cycling, known on CycleHub as Tour de Gong, turns the New South Wales coastal city of Wollongong into a sixteen day celebration of riding each spring. Set on a narrow coastal plain between the Illawarra Escarpment and the Pacific Ocean, it brings together riders of every age, ability and background across road races, community rides, mountain bike sessions, skills courses and inclusive cycling days.
Built on the legacy of the UCI Road World Championships that Wollongong hosted, the program runs from competitive racing on iconic local climbs to relaxed social rides along the famous coastline, alongside school programs, accessible trishaw rides and a family festival day by the harbour. Whether you are chasing a result, rolling out with the family or getting back on a bike for the first time in years, there is a way to take part.
At the heart of it all is the Family Fun Day at Lang Park on the Wollongong Foreshore, a free community hub with exhibitors, entertainment, food and workshops that closes out the festival. Many individual events can be enjoyed on their own, and several have their own dedicated pages on CycleHub.
